What is RSS and how can I use it?

Finding it hard to stay abreast of the latest news and information on the Web? You're not alone. The number of web sites and people producing content has grown over the years to an unmanageable size. Fortunately, you can now separate the signal from the noise with subscriptions to sites you enjoy with the help of RSS.

Really Simple Syndication (RSS) feeds bring automatically updated information straight to your desktop. Here at Travelshop365.com, we provide you with a RSS feed that will keep you up to date with all our latest travel offers - updated hourly! More and more sites offer feeds, which you can identify by a small button that says either RSS or XML. However, if you click one of these links, you will most likely get a page full of code in your browser. To subscribe to our feed, all you need is to download a RSS reader and to add the following address:

http://newmont.digital-trip.co.uk/xml/news.ashx

http://newmont.digital-trip.co.uk/xml/rss.ashx

Where can I get an RSS reader?

Two basic varieties of newsreader exist. Most are standalone applications that run in the background on your desktop, automatically updating headlines regularly with newsfeeds from your subscribed Web sites and blogs. A second group of newsreaders plugs in to applications already running on your PC. For instance, NewsGator works with Microsoft Outlook, populating Inbox folders with headlines from subscribed channels. Pluck, on the other hand, works with Internet Explorer.
